This collection of short stories began as a writing exercise for one of my undergraduate classes. Fantasy is full of love stories involving immortals and I always found a certain sadness in that. That idea that someone who lives forever falls in love with someone doomed to live a mortal life. How would that change a person? Would it affect an immortal?
